The University of Gwadar has made significant progress toward strengthening institutional performance and academic excellence by holding the inaugural meeting of the Review of Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) Follow-up Committee. The meeting, chaired by Registrar Dr. Dolat Khan, set ambitious targets for digital transformation and reviewed key achievements in infrastructure development and faculty support. During the meeting, it was decided to accelerate the university’s digitalization agenda, with a firm deadline of December 2026 set for completing core digital reforms. Under this plan, the IT Directorate and the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) will jointly ensure the implementation of a secure and integrated Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS), provide full access to digital library resources, and develop customized Quality Assurance (QA) dashboards. The meeting also emphasized strengthening the research culture at the university. Participants appreciated the research incentives approved by the Vice Chancellor through the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), describing them as among the most competitive and substantial initiatives in the country. To promote teaching excellence, the University Syndicate has approved a cash award of PKR 0.2 million for the “Best Teacher,” reflecting the institution’s commitment to recognizing high-quality teaching. On the infrastructure front, the Registrar shared that approximately 80% of the main campus construction has been completed, marking a significant milestone in the university’s development. To ensure student well-being, it was recommended to constitute committees for the inspection of hostels, focusing on hygiene, facilities, and overall arrangements. The RIPE Follow-up Committee, convened by Dr. Mohib Ullah, with QEC Director Dr. Rabia serving as Secretary, includes Madam Shehnaz, Dr. Muhammad Asif, and Akram Rasheed (representative of the IT Directorate). The committee will closely monitor the progress of these initiatives and report to the University of Gwadar Quality Circle (UGQC) to ensure effective implementation across all departments.
