A delegation from the University of Gwadar, comprising Hafeezullah, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, and Sagheer Naseem, Lecturer, Department of Management Sciences, visited ITCN Asia 2026 at the Expo Center Karachi. The visit aimed to further strengthen linkages between the University of Gwadar and the industrial sector and explore opportunities for mutual collaboration. ITCN Asia 2026 was held from September 22 to 24 and is among Pakistan’s major technology exhibitions and conferences. The event brought together leading IT companies, technology solution providers, startups, investors, and other stakeholders associated with Pakistan’s technology ecosystem. The exhibition showcased emerging technologies and solutions in areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, data centres, e-commerce, educational technology, and digital transformation. During the visit, the University of Gwadar delegation visited the stalls of various leading technology companies and held detailed discussions with their representatives on potential areas of collaboration. The discussions covered student internship programmes, industry-led training and certification programmes, faculty development, joint research and development, industry-supported final-year projects, guest lectures, hackathons, consultancy services, technology transfer, and the provision of software, hardware, and other technology solutions. The delegation also explored opportunities for institutional partnerships through industrial study visits, exchange programmes, joint innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, curriculum development, and the signing of memorandum of Understanding (MoUs). Particular emphasis was placed on aligning academic education and training with industry requirements and providing students with practical experience and professional opportunities. The University of Gwadar delegation expressed its interest in further developing these engagements with relevant technology companies, arranging follow-up meetings, and establishing formal partnerships.
