Pak-China Technical Institute Gwadar and Wuhan Central Group Sign MoU to Strengthen Vocational Skills Training under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute, University of Gwadar, and Wuhan Central Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. (People’s Republic of China) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance collaboration in vocational and technical education under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Executive Director of the PCT&VI UG, and Chairman of the Wuhan Central Group. The agreement aims to establish a long-term strategic partnership to enhance skill development, promote international educational cooperation, and strengthen workforce capacity in the Gwadar region.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr. Manzoor Ahmed said, “This MoU marks the beginning of a new era for the youth of Gwadar and the surrounding region. Partnering with a renowned Chinese organization will not only promote educational and technical advancement but also open new avenues for our students to gain international-standard training and employment opportunities. Through this collaboration, we aim to produce a generation equipped with modern industrial skills capable of contributing effectively to national and regional development.”
Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly organize educational programs, technical workshops, and training sessions. They will also work together to establish “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training bases, where students will receive combined instruction in both the Chinese language and modern technical skills. The MoU also includes provisions for joint curriculum development, faculty training, student and teacher exchange programs, and the organization of international seminars, conferences, and competitions.
The Chairman of Wuhan Central Group expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute in promoting vocational education in Gwadar — a region of strategic importance. This partnership aligns with our vision of advancing global educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and developing a highly skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of modern industry.”
Dr Manzoor Ahmed also attended the seminar on “Digitalization of Technical Institutes in Developing countries”, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China.
