Grand Inauguration of the Three-Day 2nd Business & Cultural Gala at the University of Gwadar.

The grand inauguration of the three-day 2nd Business & Cultural Gala at the University of Gwadar was held through a dignified ceremony at the university’s Seminar Hall. The gala will continue from February 2 to February 4.
The primary objective of this gala is to highlight the region’s business potential, students’ creative thinking, and the rich cultural heritage of Balochistan, while fostering strong linkages among academia, the business community, and the local society, so that students may become job creators rather than job seekers.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, University of Gwadar, Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir. The Chief Guest was MPA Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, while the Guests of Honor included renowned academic and social figure of Gwadar, Nasir Rahim Sohrabi, Prof Naseer Ahmed, Principal Degree College Gwadar, and Sharif Miandad, former Chairman Municipal Corporation.
In his presidential address, the Vice Chancellor termed such activities essential for the holistic development of students and stated that the Business & Cultural Gala plays a vital role in aligning youth with the practical demands of professional life. He also expressed special gratitude to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, and the Governor of Balochistan, Mir Jafar Khan Mandokhail, emphasizing that the continuous patronage and support of the provincial government and the Governor's House are crucial for the academic and developmental journey of the University of Gwadar. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s initiatives for higher education and youth empowerment. He described the Governor’s keen interest and guidance in educational institutions as a source of strength for the university.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Guest, MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, urged the youth to focus not only on education but also on business and entrepreneurial activities. He said that the younger generation is the nation’s real asset, and if provided with educational opportunities and practical business platforms, Gwadar and Balochistan can achieve new milestones in economic development.
The ceremony was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Registrar Dr. Dolat Khan, Controller of Examinations Dr. Rahim Mehr, Deans of Faculties, heads of various administrative departments, and other administrative officers. Speakers appreciated the efforts of the University of Gwadar and stated that the Business & Cultural Gala 2026 is providing an effective platform for youth in the areas of business, innovation, and culture, which will contribute positively to Gwadar’s social and economic development.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to the distinguished guests. It is noteworthy that the Business & Cultural Gala will continue for the next two days, featuring business exhibitions, student-led startups, cultural programs, and panel discussions.
