Board of Studies Approves BS Zoology Programs and Lateral Entry Structure at University of Gwadar.

The 1st meeting of the Board of Studies (BoS) of the Department of Zoology, University of Gwadar, was held in the PCT&VI Conference Room under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohib Ullah, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, University of Gwadar. The Board unanimously approved the Mission and Vision Statements of the Department after detailed review in line with academic standards and regional priorities. The revised curriculum of the BS 4-Year Zoology (Fisheries and Aquaculture) program was approved in accordance with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission. The Board endorsed the scheme of studies and course outlines, emphasizing the program’s relevance to Balochistan’s coastal and marine resources. A 3-credit-hour Chinese language course was adopted under the Academic Council's direction. The Board also approved the restructuring of the 2.5-year (5-semester) BS Zoology (Lateral Entry) program in compliance with HEC Entry and Exit Provisions. In line with HEC directives, the Board approved the inclusion of a mandatory course titled “Artificial Intelligence in Biological Sciences,” to be implemented from Fall 2026. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Gwadar; Dr. Mehtab Ibrahim, Lecturer, Department of Zoology, GBDC Turbat (Subject Expert); Ms. Ateeqa Baloch, In-charge, Department of Zoology, University of Gwadar; and Ms. Hafsa Qazi, faculty member, Department of Zoology, University of Gwadar. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to and from the Chair, reaffirming the University’s commitment to academic excellence and regulatory compliance.
